Oulton Abbey - further change to Mass Date

The date for ther next Mass at Oulton Abbey has had to be put back and is not now on the 9 Sept.
Instead it is at 3 pm. on Sunday 30 Sept.  It is probably worthwhile to confirm this close to the day.

Changed Date Mass at Oulton Abbey There will NOT be a Mass at Oulton Abbey on August 26th. However there will be a Mass a fortnight later at 3 pm on Sept. 9th. Mother Benedicta is happy for us now to have a Traditional Mass each month, but it is not feasible to keep it to the fourth Sunday each month. The LMS will keep you informed (in advance!) of the date for the Mass each upcoming month.

FR. JOSEPH TYNAN - HEALTH REPORT- LOSS OF MASSES

Fr. Tynan, who has offered the Traditional Rite for us for a number of years recently suffered a mild stroke and was hospitalized.  It seriously affected his vision.  He is now out of hospital and at home, being cared for by his sister, Rita, and is on a programme to monitor his peripheral vision which has recovered a little.  He remains his old chirpy self overall, but he is not able for to celebrate his usual Masses at Cheadle and Stone.  Your prayers for his recovery would be welcomed.

SOME ADDITIONAL MASSES

There is some good news with the addition of Trad. Rite Masses at Oulton Abbey near Stone,  Instead of bi-monthly Masses on the fourth Sunday, there will now be Masses on the fourth Sunday of each month at 3 p.m., subject to major events in the Benedictine calendar on the same day.  Our thanks to Mother Dame Benedicta and Fr. Petroc Howell.  The next two Masses are at 3 pm, June 24 and July 22

Family Day and Confirmations

A little late to announce it, but this Sunday will be Family Day at Burslem again; the themes this time being Our Lady of Fatima and The Sacrament of Confirmation.

Bp. McGough offering Pontifical High Mass

The reason for the second theme is that Bishop David McGough will later be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Traditional Rite (beginning about 5 o'clock) and a number of younger members of the community will be confirmed. Bishop McGough will also be present in choir for the Solemn High Mass that will follow at the usual time of 6pm and will include the First Holy Communion of the younger brother of one of the confirmands.
