ALL SAINTS MASS at 6pm

There will be a traditional Latin Mass (Low) at Our Lady's, Swynnerton at 6pm., Nov. 1.

As usual there will be a traditional Mass (Low) this Sunday, 30 Oct., for the Feast of Christ the King, but there will NOT be Mass next Saturday morning (5 Nov.) as Fr. Chavasse has a prior engagement.

MASSES EARLY OCTOBER

Fr. Chavasse will be away the next two Sundays (2 & 9 Oct.), but Masses will go ahead at Our Lady’s, Swynnerton as usual at 6 pm.  Indeed, they will both probably be Sung Masses.  They will be celebrated by Fr. Stephen Goodman of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church in Wolverhampton.  There will be the usual fortnightly Low Mass on Saturday 8 Oct. at 10 am with Fr. Chavasse.

Fr. Goodman will be celebrating a Solemn High Mass at his church in Cannock Road on the Feast of the Holy Rosary , Oct. 7, at 7. 30pm (please confirm before travelling).

 

There will be the usual First Friday Mass with Fr. Dykes at St. Wulstan's Church, Wolstanton, near Newcastle, at 7pm Oct. 7th, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

TWO CANCELLATIONS June 3 & 4

 

Unfortunately there are two cancellation this week.  Fr. Dykes is in Valladolid and we have not got a priest for the usual First Friday 7pm Mass at St. Wulstan’s, Wolstanton.  Next First Friday Mass there will be 1^st July (please note the following Sunday 3 July is the annual LMS Pilgrimage to Holywell).

Father Chavasse is undergoing more treatment so the Mass this coming Saturday morning is cancelled.  We should have Fr. Stephen Goodman for the 6 pm Sunday Mass (June 5) which may be a Missa Cantata.

UPDATE MAY & JUNE

Unfortunately there will not be a local Mass for the traditional Feast Of Corpus Christi in the EF form.  There will be Masses in New Brighton (Ss Peter Paul & Philomena) and St Mary’s (FSSP) in Warrington, but I have not found out any times other than the usual morning Mass times as yet.

 

We may also be struggling for a First Friday Mass on 3 June, though we have a replacement for Fr. Chavasse (further treatment, poor man) for the Mass at Swynnerton on Sunday 5 June.  Almost certainly we will have a Mass for Ss Peter & Paul, June 29.

 

Feast of the ASCENSION Mass 5 May

There will be a Mass for the Feast of the Ascension, Thursday 5 May at Our Lady's Church Swynnerton near Stone, at 6pm.  Our thanks to Fr. Paul Chavasse.

There are also Latin Masses on the following three days:
First Friday, 6 May, 7 pm, at St. Wulstan's, Wolstanton near Stoke-on-Trent (Fr. Dykes)
Saturday fortnightly Mass at Our Lady's, Swynnerton 10 am May 7
Sunday (weekly) at Swynnerton, 8 May at 6 pm.

Forthcoming Masses & Inaugural Mass at FSSP Church Warrington 21 Nov

Partly this is to remind us of the 7 pm Low Mass for the Feast of All Souls at Our Lady’s Swynnerton at 7 pm this evening, as well as the fortnightly Mass at Swynnerton  this Saturday (7^th.) at 10 am, and the First Friday Mass at St. Wulstan’s, Wolstanton at 7 pm on 6 Nov.

However, the following Sat. morning Mass at Swynnerton may be cancelled as Fr. Chavasse and a number of us may be attending the Inaugural Mass of the FSSP taking over the Church of St. Mary’s Warrington T 12 NOON on Sat. 21 Nov.  Please check (phone 01270-768144/e-mail) close to the day if you are intending to attend the 21 Nov. Mass at 10 am Swynnerton.

Polyphonic Solemn High Mass in the presence of the Most Reverend Malcolm Patrick McMahon OP, Archbishop of Liverpool,

 

at St Mary’s Priory Church, Buttermarket Street, Warrington WA1 2NS.

 Access: Warrington is conveniently located at the intersection of the M6, M62 and M56 (overflow car parks by adjacent supermarkets). It is under 2h from London Euston by direct train: the 9:30AM service will take you there by 11:14AM. Warrington is 17 miles from Manchester Airport. All welcome. Choir dress for clergy. Refreshments will follow.
