Beryl Terry Has Died

Beryl Terry, whom most of have known for a number of years, and who had been painfully ill for some time, died in the early hours of yesterday at St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Stone.  Mercifully, as Dame Benedicta (who sends us her regards) confirms, she died peacefully.  She was the regular and exemplary organist for a long time at the Sunday 3pm Latin Masses at various venues, latterly at the Abbey Church at Oulton, next to where she lived and where she was resident organist until illness forced her to retire.

Her Funeral will be in the traditional Latin Requiem rite, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, 12 December in Oulton Abbey Church.  The celebrant and assistants are expected to be Fr. Anton Guziel, Fr. Andrew Southwell and Fr. Julian Booth. The music and singing are yet to be arranged.  Her body will be received into the Church the day before, 11 Dec. at 3.30pm with prayers and a short service (most likely in English).
